City Technology launches the In-Q-OX - fast-response oxygen sensor for infant incubators Thousands of babies around the world stand to benefit from the launch of City Technology's fast-response, long-life oxygen sensor for use in infant incubators, the In-Q-OX.
Developed by City's research scientists at their manufacturing facility in Portsmouth, England, the In-Q-OX O2 MediceL is optimised for long life in environments of up to 100% oxygen. The expected operating life of 2 years in 50% O2 is extended to four years in 210mBar O2. For use in an area where measurement accuracy and reliability are crucial to patient well-being and care delivery, the In-Q-OX has a fast T90 response time of less than 5 seconds and excellent long-term stability. The sensor's integral Molex connector makes it compatible with a wide range of incubator products. City's MediceL range is subject to stringent quality control and rigorous testing procedures. The production processes for the In-Q-OX are performed by a dedicated team, and incorporate automatic checks such that each stage cannot be carried out until the previous stage was 100% correct. City Technology is accredited with the BS EN ISO 9001 and the BS EN 46001 quality standards.David Baines, Director - Medical Applications said: 'By incorporating the In-Q-OX into their medical instruments, OEMs will be delivering huge benefits both to neonatal and paediatric clinicians world-wide. It is the sensor's reliability, long-life and accuracy that are of particular benefit to improving the efficiency of incubators. Feedback so far has been very positive making the In-Q-OX a welcome and significant addition to our MediceL range.' March, 2001 For further information please contact:
